Copy eightOS to micro SD-Card

Copy the eightOS firmware .img file to micro SD-Card

There are times when updates to the eightOS software cannot be released over-the-air, or an installer opts to manually update the operating system via SD-Card.  In these instances the eightOS firmware update can be provided electronically in .img format for the installer to download, copy to micro-SD card, then flash to the TouchOne G3 device.

Pre-Requisites:

  1. A Micro SD-card.

  2. A computer with an SD card reader

    • If your computer only has a standard sized SD card slot then you will need an SD card adapter.

    • If the computer does not have an SD card reader at all then you will need an external SD card reader that connects via USB.

  3. A Windows computer

    • If you do not have a Windows computer you can use a Virtual Machine with Windows.

    • Alternatively, you can use different software compatible with Linux or Mac OS.

  4. PhoenixCard v4.1.9 utility (or alternative for your Operating System).

Preparing the Micro SD-card:

Important:  If using a Windows computer you will need to do a quick format of your micro SD-Card before coping the firmware .img file across.  Please back-up any files you may need on your SD-Card before proceeding.
